Phytohaemagglutinin (PHA, or phytohemagglutinin) is a lectin found in plants, especially certain legumes. PHA actually consists of two closely related proteins, called leucoagglutinin ( PHA-L ) and PHA-E .
This lectin contains Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) proteins which signals for the B-cell for a proliferative response. B cells are shown to have no response to pure PWM without the Toll-like receptor suggesting that PWM inducing ability relies on TLR4 protein's presence for the signaling of B-cells and the response.
This is a list of foodborne illness outbreaks by death toll, caused by infectious disease, heavy metals, chemical contamination, or from natural toxins, such as those found in poisonous mushrooms. Before modern microbiology, foodbourne illness was not understood, and, from the mid 1800s to early-mid 1900s, was perceived as ptomaine poisoning ...

Illustration showing influenza virus attaching to cell membrane via the surface protein hemagglutinin. Hemagglutinins (alternatively spelt haemagglutinin, from the Greek haima, 'blood' + Latin gluten, 'glue') are homotrimeric glycoproteins present on the protein capsids of viruses in the Paramyxoviridae and Orthomyxoviridae families.
The death toll from Hurricane Helene has risen to approximately 232 people, with hundreds still missing, and numbers expected to rise as recovery efforts continue, especially in the hardest hit ...
"Organized by death toll" means list entries are ordered by death toll, or; there is a table sortable on a column labeled "Death toll", "Casualties", or equivalent;
For a given epidemic or pandemic, the average of its estimated death toll range is used for ranking. If the death toll averages of two or more epidemics or pandemics are equal, then the smaller the range, the higher the rank. For the historical records of major changes in the world population, see world population. [3]
