Claire Lynch (born February 20, 1954) is an American bluegrass musician, singer, songwriter, and producer. She is a three-time winner of the International Bluegrass Music Association's Female Vocalist of the Year honors. Michelle Nixon began her professional music career when she formed the band Slate River with her husband Nick in 1989. [3] In 1990 and 1991, Nixon won the Virginia Folk Music Association's female vocalist award.
