Since its pilot year in 2009, PSHS-CLC has been renting a portion of Clark Polytechnic School in Clark Freeport Zone. The first campus site was proposed by the Clark Development Corporation (CDC) to be in the Sacobia Area but due to the concerns of the indigenous people on their Ancestral Domain Rights, the campus site was transferred to Air Force City in 2011.
The Philippine Science High School - Bicol Region Campus (PSHS-BRC) is the seventh campus of the Philippine Science High School System, a specialized public high school in the Philippines. Founded in 1998, it caters to scientifically and mathematically gifted high school students of the Bicol Region .
It established the PSHS System and unified all the existing campuses into a single system of governance and management. In 2001, the PSHS System Law was further amended by R.A. No. 9036 consolidating the power and authority over all PSHS System campuses into a single Board of Trustees to ensure uniform policy coordination, standards and management.
To be admitted to the PSHS System, a prospective student must pass the PSHS National Competitive Exam. To take the exam, the student must have a final grade of at least 85% in both Science and Mathematics (in their 5th year of elementary school), or belong to the top 10% of their graduating class. Around 20,000 applications are received each year.

In 1998, Republic Act 8496, otherwise known as the "Philippine Science High School (PSHS) System Act of 1997", was approved by then-President Fidel Ramos. This act established a system that merged the four existing PSHS campuses under one system. In 2001, the law was amended to include the NVSHS, thus incorporating the school into the system.
