The 2023–24 Persian Gulf Pro League (formerly known as Iran Pro League) will be the 41st season of Iran's Football League and 23rd as Persian Gulf Pro League since its establishment in 2001. Teams [ edit ]
In 2001, the Iran Pro League was founded as the new top-level football league in Iran. [1] After the Iran Pro League was established as the professional football league of Iran, Azadegan League was declared as the second-highest league in the Iranian football league system. [1] The Iran Pro League comprised 14 clubs until the 2003–04 season.
A total of sixteen teams contest the league, including fourteen sides from the 2023–24 season and two promoted from the 2023–24 Azadegan League. This includes the two top teams from the Azadegan League. Kheybar Khorramabad and Chadormalou Ardakan (both were promoted to the top flight for the first time).
