JulianN, I believe that the technical issues are only a part of the problem folks are experiencing. The larger problem here is that COX has dumped our email service off to a second rate provider that wants to charge us for technical support and cox technical support has simply abandoned their former customers.
The email login worked flawlessly until end of February 2020, except for 1 or 2 days as noted above when it looked like Cox changed the login screen to a larger, easier to read size. I though Cox had fixed the problem. Then it came back. I thought maybe Cox was in the process of changing something behind the scenes, and therefor the problem ...
Webmail (Enhanced): I get directed to my Cox Account page as if I'd signed in to www.cox.com directly. If I click on either of the email links (i.e. 'Cox Email' at the top or 'View Cox Email' in the Internet section) it just reloads the page.

It sounds like your email address has already been moved to the new email platform, while your husband's email address is still on the legacy platform. I use Cox web/online to view all my emails and save all of them and need to be able to access them in the future so I'm wondering when email transitions to Yahoo if I'll still be able to go into my email saved in my email.cox.net account to find all of my old emails?
