Creating a preset Profile and selecting it for your controller. On the "Profiles" tab, create a new profile. DS4Windows should ask if you want to use a Preset, select "Yes" then "gamepad -> Xbox 360 ". Forget that your real controller is a "PS4 gamepad" (DS4). When using it with DS4Windows what matter is the type of controller emulation (or ...
Things I've tried. - Going to device manger and disabling one if the controllers. - Uninstalling the ViGEmBus driver and reinstalling. - Checking Hide DS4 Controller setting. - Switching to and Emulated Dualshock controller instead of an XBox360 one. - Switching the polling rate to the default 250hz. If anybody knows anything on how to fix it ...
Set the Touchpad to "Passthru" mode. You also need to "un-bind" all touchpad related actions in the left-side list of the "Controls" tab (inside the profile editor). I have solution: 1)open ds4w. 2)go to settings, click controller/driver setup. 3)click install ViGEmBus Driver. 4)when it will open click repair. it worked for me. If its still dont work then go to windows Bluetooth settings, unpair wireless controller and then pair it back. Also reset can help.

My DS4/PS4 controller would connect to my PC but wouldn't be detected as a controller or function with Windows, Steam or DS4 Windows, or InputMapper. I'd been searching far and wide to solve this. With no luck, many posts giving the same solutions that didn't work.
You can set the Bluetooth poll rate to 1ms as shown here. Also you can overclock your controller savely to remove the usb input lag as described in this video. Unchecking the box for Enable Output Data To DS4 should cut latency in half if you don't mind losing rumble and lightbar functions. Getting a USB extension cord for your Bluetooth ...
Close Steam fully and test again. Make sure it is actually closed and not "minimized/hiding" near windows' clock, also called Windows' tray bar. If it's Steam's fault you can follow the Recommended ITEM in the "Instructions on how to prevent remapping conflicts" SECTION of the following page: Preventing conflicts between Steam and DS4Windows.
