The List of law schools in the United States includes additional schools which may publish a law review or other legal journal. There are several different ways by which law reviews are ranked against one another, but the most commonly cited ranking is the Washington & Lee Law Journal Ranking .
Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based in Askham Bryan, York, England. [1] [2] It also has centres in Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Saltaire and Wakefield. It was built in 1936, but not opened until after World War II as the Yorkshire Agricultural Institute. It first opened to students in 1948. [3]
The law school was founded in 1930 as the Jackson School of Law. In 1975, the law school was acquired by Mississippi College. In 1980, MC Law gained full ABA accreditation. [7] MC Law is one of two law schools in the state of Mississippi, and the only law school in the capital, Jackson.
The firm was founded in New Orleans in 1974 by Dermot S. McGlinchey [4] and Graham Stafford. It began as a small group in a single downtown New Orleans office. The firm is ranked on The National Law Journal's list of the 350 largest law firms in the United States. [5]
The Mississippi Bar traces its lineage to a voluntary membership organization formed in 1821; however, this association lapsed after four years. It was revived in 1886, but lapsed six years later. [2] In 1905 it was revived again; its first President was G.D. Shands.
Banks grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of Fred Lee Banks Sr. and Violet (Mabery) Banks. He graduated from Lanier High School in 1960. [3] He received a BBA from Howard University in Washington, D.C. followed by a JD from the Howard University School of Law, in 1968. [4] [2] He graduated cum laude, second in his class. [2] [3]
