Stillwater has two highways running through it: Oklahoma State Highway 51, or 6th Avenue, runs east and west; and US-177, or Perkins Road, runs north and south. The city is also served by a 7.2-mile (11.6 km) spur that connects US-177 to the Cimarron Turnpike .
There is one main lane toll plaza near Perkins Road that costs anywhere between $0.45 (for 2-axle vehicles with a Pikepass) to $2.50 (6-axle vehicles without a Pikepass). [18] The spur's western terminus is at a trumpet interchange with US-177 in northern Stillwater, near Oklahoma State University .
A new site at the south end of Stillwater with similar qualities to the old setting was agreed to in 2005.
