Bulldug - Yep, I remember Hoot Gibson's station at the corner of Philadelphia and Salem. If I recall correctly, the big hat on the car was red. There's a pharmacy there now, either CVS or Walgreens. The phone company building is still there and is still in use. Last Edited by on Apr 16, 2008 5:19 AM Martha Hardcastle 3 posts Apr 16, 2008

I think one was Rexall, an the only National Chain was Walgreens. Now it is almost 40 years later and Atlanta and Dayton has for the most part the same drug store chains. We have CVS, Rite Aid, a couple Revcos, although most are gone, and of course one of the big changes is Walmart and Kroger now has big Drug Departments.

Bettmans is now located at the corner of Catalpa and Hillcrest in an old Rite-Aid store. I was surprised when they moved there as Ray's Pharmacy is just up the street at Catalpa and Fairview. Anticolis is now located on North Main out past Shiloh Springs Road. I think it's called Anticolis Cafe now. Last Edited by on Aug 25, 2007 12:53 PM
