So, I’m in a homeowners house and he’s having problems with his toilet. I look under the toilet and he’s got a good flange not one of those restrictive one like inside of 3 inch. Look under his home and notice there is a sanitary tee on its side that catches the toilet on the main. Obviously not ideal and could definitely cause problems.
Wanting to replace the toilet and I'm looking for suggestions. Here's what we want, a white round bowl standard height quality toilet. We want one that uses standard replacement parts. looking for something that is simple, functional and quality.
There is no difference in the photos. They are identical. The spec sheet is different, but it seems the fields are different so its impossible to compare.
I know this from my own use. I also have installed a half dozen or so for friends and family members and all are extremely pleased. It is ADA height with an elongated bowl in white. It's available in biscuit for $165. The same toilet in a standard height round bowl model is branded Project Source at Lowe's and is $88 in white.
To save cost, that is all I had him do. After a few hours, I was able to install the toilet with the wax ring without much trouble. I had already checked various reviews online for toilets before I decided on this one.

Parts breaking, bowl not getting washed down, cracks, or just smelling like an unflushed urinal. I would get a Gerber or even a Kohler instead. If you really want to save money, I'd buy a Project Source toilet from Lowes.
Take pure bleach (wear dishwashing gloves), and sponge it all over the toilet, walls, and floor. Even under the toilet, the back of it, clean it all. Drench it. Let the bleach make contact with every nook and cranny. Yup, give it a good hospital-grade disinfecting cleaning.
We're updating a guest bathroom, and the current shower/tub faucet is AquaSource. Not knowing anything about plumbing, I purchased a Delta faucet, but our plumber told us it wasn't compatible unless we want to cut a hole in the wall to replace the rough-in kit. (We don't want to do that.) The...
I know this thread is quite old but I have a related problem now. I'm trying to replace the toilet seat on a Toto skirted toilet. I bought a soft close replacement seat but I can't see how to remove the original seat. The toilet was originally installed in 2001. The seat has no slotted screw but instead a chrome plate.
