Il Sole 24 Ore was first published on 9 November 1965 as a merger between Il Sole ("The Sun"), founded in 1865, [4] and 24 Ore ("24 Hours"), founded in 1933. Federico Rampini (born 25 March 1956) is an Italian journalist, writer, and lecturer who holds both Italian and American citizenship. [1] [2] He served as deputy editor of Il Sole 24 Ore, and has worked as chief foreign correspondent for La Repubblica since 1997. [3]
