The Texas Triangle is a region of Texas that contains the state's five largest cities and is home to over half of the state's population. The Texas Triangle is formed by the state's four main urban centers, Austin, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, and San Antonio, connected by Interstate 45, Interstate 10, and Interstate 35.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 8.4 square miles (22 km 2), of which 8.4 sq mi (22 km 2) are land and 0.12% is covered by water. However, the town of Livingston is approximately 10 mi (16 km) east of Lake Livingston, which is the largest drinking-water reservoir in Texas.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 7.4 mi 2 (19.2 km 2), of which 0.04 mi 2 (0.1 km 2) (0.40%) is covered by water. The area is served by U.S. Routes 57 and 277, and Farm-to-Market Road 481. Maverick County Memorial International Airport is a general aviation field.
The land was owned by Simeon "Rapp" Talburt, who built the first home in the area in the early 1830s. [5] Rapp and many of his family members are buried in a small cemetery in the Indian Creek subdivision of Mountain Home. The original cabin was found in 1990 and is on display in Cooper Park in Mountain Home with other homes of historic value.
