Postgraduate Admission Test – Each university in Bangladesh applies a different methodology to admit prospective Masters students. But usually, they have to appear in the Masters/Postgraduate Admission Test (different subject have different names). Some universities do not require any admission test.
Provincial medical entrance exams included the MDCAT conducted by the University of Health Sciences, Lahore in Punjab and Balochistan before the NMDCAT. It was implemented in 1998 as the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) on the initiative of the then chief minister of Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif to counter replete cheating in HSSC exams at the time.
ECAT is widely considered as most difficult entrance test of any university in Pakistan, where only around 1-2% candidates are able to score 50% or above marks. In ECAT-2021, the average score was only 73 out of 400 (18.25%), lowest since the test started in 1998.
