Nova Southeastern University Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Osteopathic Medicine (NSU-KPCOM) is a private medical school in Davie, Florida. It is an academic division of Nova Southeastern University. The college was founded in 1981 as the only osteopathic medical school located in the Southeastern United States at the time.
Patel was born in Zambia in 1949 to a Hindu Gujarati Indian family. He got his primary education under the British educational system in Zambia and earned diplomas from Cambridge University and the University of London. Patel attended medical school in India at Gujarat University [1] and completed his internship in Africa.
Two new colleges were established: the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Allopathic Medicine and the Farquhar Honors College. [62] [63] The inaugural class of the medical school consisted of 53 students, with courses commencing on July 30, 2018.
