The first route numbered FM 2618 was designated on November 24, 1959, from FM 111 (now FM 60) at Deanville south 3.1 miles (5.0 km) to a road intersection; 0.2 miles (0.32 km) were a replacement of FM Spur 111. On September 27, 1960, the road was extended south 2.6 miles (4.2 km) to a county road.
