When changing or creating a new template, follow the use of colour guidelines and the color accessibility guidelines when choosing the background color and, sometimes, the text color. Many of these templates can be used with links to other articles or references, so the links should be clearly identifiable against the background color.
A scrolling table in the sense of the vertical scrollbar for the whole page. When you scroll the page the table headers stay visible when the table goes beyond the top of the screen. See Template:Sticky header for examples, more info, and specialized cases.
This template marks the beginning of a table and defines borders, margins, background colours, and text alignment within the table. (Default alignment is "right", others must be specified.) Table rows and cells are written as usual, and the table is closed with "|}" For example, to have a table as shown below, include the code shown to the right:
{| table code goes here |} An optional table caption is included with a line starting with a vertical bar and plus sign "|+" and the caption after it: {| |+ caption table code goes here |} To start a new table row, type a vertical bar and a hyphen on its own line: "|-". The codes for the cells in that row start on the next line.
