Lufkin is the largest city in Angelina County, Texas, United States and is the county seat.The city is situated in Deep East Texas and is 60 mi (97 km) west of the Texas- Louisiana state line.
On October 30, 1939, before signage was changed, SH 293 was changed back to SH 103. By 1940, sections around Lufkin were completed, but did not connect to earthen roads to the west.
