V. Jayaprakash is an Indian actor and producer who works in Tamil and Telugu films. He ventured into film business in the early 2000s as a producer, making several films under his banner GJ Cinema and later turned actor, with Cheran's 2007 film, Mayakannadi .
He made his first film, Sathi Sanam in 1997, with the film earning tax free status from the government. [1] Jayaprakash's second film Kadhal FM (2005) starred Manikandan, Shivani Singh and Aravind Akash in the lead roles. Prior to release, Jayaprakash described the film as an "out and out film of the youth, by the youth and for the youth". [2]
The film stars Regina Cassandra, [2] Akshara Gowda, Vennela Kishore and Jayaprakash. The plot of the film is set in two time periods, modern and 1920s with Regina Cassandra playing an archaeologist in the present and Akshara Gowda portraying a girl belonging to a landowners family from the past.

Prior to release, the media reported that the story was based on the life of psycho killer Jayaprakash, who killed nine of his relatives in the 1980s at Valasaravakkam, Chennai.
