Colfax (formerly Alden Grove, Alder Grove, Illinoistown, and Upper Corral) is a city in Placer County, California, [4] at the crossroads of Interstate 80 and State Route 174. The population was 1,963 at the 2010 census .
Colfax is located in eastern McLean County at (40.566290, -88.615304 Illinois Route 165 runs along the northern border of the village, leading west-southwest 26 miles (42 km) to Bloomington, the county seat, and east 13 miles (21 km) to Sibley.

The 1976 model was the introduction of Chevrolet's new 5.0 liter (305 CID) V8 engine with a two-barrel carburetor generating 140 horsepower (100 kW) at 3,800 rpm, but only for California and high-altitude Monza customers, and replaced the 350 V8.
