He established the first eye hospital in the Philippines, De Ocampo Eye Hospital (1952) and the first Filipino President of the Philippine Ophthalmological Society (1958).
In 2009, it became the first hospital outside Luzón and third in the Philippines to be accredited by Joint Commission International. [3] [4] The hospital had been able to keep its agency accreditation until 2015. [5] Chong Hua has 660 bed capacity [6] and is located near the Fuente Osmeña Circle, a city landmark. [7]
