The High Chaparral is an American Western action-adventure drama television series that aired on NBC from 1967 to 1971, starring Leif Erickson and Cameron Mitchell. The series was made by Xanadu Productions in association with NBC Productions, and was created by David Dortort , who had previously created Bonanza for the network.
The series aired for four seasons. In the same year he was cast in an episode of the western TV series Bonanza as Jud Rikeman. He went on to play Taylor Reed in the 1973 film Salty and reprised his role in the syndicated adventure series Salty (1974–1975). [1]: 924 Slade's acting career continued into the early 1990s.
The High Chaparral and Rancho Montoya are both threatened when Victoria's childhood sweetheart, Diego de la Paula, seeks revenge after his hacienda is seized and sold to Don Sebastian Montoya by the new Mexican government, whom de la Paula fought against in the recent civil war.
