The Brewery District, traditionally known as the Old German Brewing District, [1] is a neighborhood located in Columbus, Ohio.Located just south of the central business district and west of German Village, it is bounded by Interstate 70 on the north, South Pearl Street on the east, Greenlawn Avenue on the south, and the Scioto River on the west.
Beer production resumed in 1933 following the repeal of Prohibition and the company was renamed "The August Wagner and Sons Brewing Company." In 1937 the company was renamed "August Wagner Breweries, Inc." August’s daughter Helen A. Wagner, Vice President of the brewery, appeared on the CBS game show “What’s My Line” on June 3, 1962.

The Schlee Brewery Historic District is a historic district in the Brewery District neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1988. [ 1 ] At the time of nomination, the site consisted of six buildings, all of which are contributing.
