Colour Me Pop was a British music TV programme broadcast on BBC2 from 1968–1969. It was a spin-off from the BBC 2 arts magazine show Late Night Line-Up.Designed to celebrate the new introduction of colour to British television, [1] it was directed by Steve Turner, and showcased half-hour sets by pop and rock groups of the period.
The album is a recording of a revised version of Ellington's Black, Brown and Beige suite. [5] After a disappointing critical response to its first performance in 1943, Ellington divided the three-part suite into six shorter sections, leaving in " Come Sunday " and "Work Song", and it is this version that is recorded here.

In 1990, St Winifred's School Choir teamed up with Ziba Banafsheh and recorded "A Better World" [6] in aid of Mother Teresa of Calcutta's charity, for BMG's Ariola label. In 1993, they recorded the single "One Voice" with Bill Tarmey (better known as Jack Duckworth from Coronation Street), but ended up being uncredited on the release. [2]
