An example of waterfall charts. Here, there are 3 total columns called Main Column1, Middle Column, and End Value. The accumulation of successive two intermediate columns from the first total column (Main Column1) as the initial value results in the 2nd total column (Middle Column), and the rest accumulation results in the last total column (End Value) as the final value.
The Fraunhofer Society spin-off [1] focuses upon the creation of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel add-in products. A radar chart or "spider chart" or "doi" is a two-dimensional chart of three or more quantitative variables represented on axes starting from the same point. A waterfall chart also known as a "Walk" chart, is a special type of floating-column chart. A tree map where the areas of the rectangles correspond to values. Other dimensions can be ...
Waterfall plots are often used to show how two-dimensional phenomena change over time. [1] A three-dimensional spectral waterfall plot is a plot in which multiple curves of data, typically spectra, are displayed simultaneously. Typically the curves are staggered both across the screen and vertically, with "nearer" curves masking the ones behind.

A log-log chart spanning more than one order of magnitude along both axes: Semi-log or log-log (non-linear) charts x position; y position; symbol/glyph; color; connections; Represents data as lines or series of points spanning large ranges on one or both axes; One or both axes are represented using a non-linear logarithmic scale; Streamgraph
Such a chart can be used in turbine design. Experimentally measured vibration response spectrum as a function of the shaft's rotation speed ( waterfall plot ), the peak locations for each slice usually corresponding to the eigenfrequencies .
A waterfall plot is essentially a spectrogram. The terms are interchangable. I suggest that these two wiki pages should be merged. A waterfall plot can be 2D with color being the third dimension. A spectrogram can also be a 3D display. Confusing terminology for all the same thing. (Spectrogram 04:38, 30 April 2006 (UTC))
