Yaquina Bay State Recreation Site, established in 1948, is a coastal state park in west-central Lincoln County, Oregon, United States, in the city of Newport.It is administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department, and located at the north end of Yaquina Bay near its outlet to the Pacific Ocean.
The creek's two named tributaries are Panther Creek and, further downstream, Fryingpan Creek. [3] Upstream of Panther Creek is the Big Creek Campground, [3] a Lane County park with four sites for tents. [5] Amenities include toilets but no drinking water, and the campground provides access to fishing, hiking, and hunting. [5]

Elk City is an unincorporated city in Lincoln County, in the U.S. state of Oregon. Lying along the Yaquina River east of Newport, it is on Elk City Road off U.S. Route 20 at Toledo. [2] Elk City lies at the confluence of Big Elk Creek with the river, about 23 miles (37 km) upstream from the Yaquina river mouth. [2]
Lost Creek State Recreation Site is a state park in the U.S. state of Oregon, administered by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. Located seven miles south of Newport , the park is developed for picnicking and beach access and offers beachcombing, whale watching and incredible sunsets.
The year-round park, which has approximately 2,000 acres (8.1 km 2), straddles US 101, causing the narrowest point of its entire distance.
