Mir Pur is one of the 51 union councils of Abbottabad District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province of Pakistan. [1] It is located at an altitude of 1251 metres (4107 feet) and lies in the west of the district. [2] The population of the union council Mirpur was 46,206 in the 2017 census. [3]
During British rule, the current district of Abbottabad was created as a Tehsil of Hazara District. [5] After the independence of Pakistan it remained a tehsil of Hazara until 1981, when the old Abbottabad Tehsil became a district. Subsequently, the district was split into two tehsils, namely Abbottabad and Havelian.
