In April 2013, Murakami's first feature film was released in theaters across Japan. Jellyfish Eyes (originally titled "Me me me no kurage) [37]) is a live-action movie featuring CGI characters designed by Murakami called Friend. [38] In 2019, Murakami was working on his own album of original folk songs, inspired by Japanese group Happy End. [39]
Since 2017, Dover is also a member of the rock outfit The Lickerish Quartet, alongside other former Jellyfish members multi-instrumentalist Roger Joseph Manning Jr. and bassist Tim Smith. Jellyfish premiered at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival. [1] The Guardian gave the film three stars out of five, calling it a "striking directorial debut" by Gardner, and "an astonishingly good performance" by Hill, although also highlighted "occasional stumbles – a few too many jabs at gentrification, a couple of misfiring performances, and in places the budget constraints really show."
