Multi-material 3D printing is the additive manufacturing procedure of using multiple materials at the same time to fabricate an object. Similar to single material additive manufacturing it can be realised through methods such as FFF , SLA and Inkjet (material jetting) 3D printing .
Fab@Home is a multi-material 3D printer, launched in 2006. [36] MK3S changes include a simplified opto-mechanical filament sensor, improved print cooling, and easier access to service the extruder.
At the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show, Markforged unveiled the Metal X, which is a 3D printer capable of 3D printing metal parts at a low cost, under $100k. [8] The process has been referred to as ADAM (Atomic Diffusion Additive Manufacturing) technology and it has an in-process laser inspection for dimensional accuracy. [5]
