Pamela Kosgei (born 5 July 2004) is a Kenyan track and field and cross-country athlete. In 2023, she became the Africa Under-20 champion, and the Kenyan senior national champion, at the 3000m Steeplechase. [1] She committed to compete for the University of New Mexico at the NCAA level, starting with the 2024 Cross Country season.

Running for the Kenyan Defence Force, she ran 32:23.11 to qualify for the 2019 African Games in the 10,000m in Rabat in August 2019. [2] In March 2022, she won the half marathon in Rome, running 1:06:03, the fastest half marathon ever ran on Italian soil by a woman. [3] In August 2022, she won the Buenos Aires half marathon. [4]
At 14 years of age, Chebichi became the first Kenyan female athlete to win a medal at the Commonwealth Games in 1974, [4] she won bronze in the 800m Women's race at 2:02.61 mins, she went on to compete in the 4 × 400 m Relay and 1500m race.

She competed for Kenya at the 2023 World Athletics Championships – Women's 800 metres in Budapest. [4] She was selected to compete for Kenya at the 2024 World Athletics Indoor Championships. [5] She ran a personal best indoors time of 2:00.80 to qualify for the semi-final, and lowered it to 1:59.65 to qualify for the final.
She also broke the Kenyan 800 m women's record twice. Jepkosgei was awarded the 2006 Kenyan Sportswoman of the Year award. [5] Jepkosgei made Kenyan History on 28 August 2007, where she won gold in the World Championship 800 m final in Osaka, becoming the first female Kenyan middle distance runner to achieve gold over 800 m.
