Benton County is a county located in the west central part of the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 19,394 as of the 2020 Census. [1] Its county seat is Warsaw. [2] The county was organized January 3, 1835, and named for U.S. Senator Thomas Hart Benton of Missouri. [3]
The county is located on the north side of the Missouri River. Its county seat is Warrenton. [2] The county was established on January 5, 1833, and was named for General Joseph Warren, who died in the Battle of Bunker Hill during the American Revolutionary War. [3] Warren County is part of the St. Louis, MO-IL Metropolitan Statistical Area.
