"Video Killed the Radio Star" is a song written by Trevor Horn, Geoff Downes and Bruce Woolley in 1979. It was recorded concurrently by Bruce Woolley and the Camera Club (with Thomas Dolby on keyboards) for their album English Garden and by British new wave/synth-pop group the Buggles, which consisted of Horn and Downes (and initially Woolley).

" Video Killed the Radio Star " by The Buggles , the first video to air on the original MTV in 1981, was also the first music video to be played when the channel was rebranded as MTV Classic on 1 March 2010.
While "Time Heals" was one of the first ten videos played on MTV, it was not #2. MTV's first hour was replayed on MTV on Aug 1 1991, and "Time Heals" was later in the hour - #2 was Pat Benatar's "You Better Run." VH1 Classic is scheduled to replay the entire first day of MTV on Aug 1 2006, so we'll see if that differs in any way.
