In the 2021 Canadian census conducted by Statistics Canada, Highlands had a population of 2,482 living in 906 of its 927 total private dwellings, a change of 11.6% from its 2016 population of 2,225. With a land area of 38.01 km 2 (14.68 sq mi), it had a population density of 65.3/km 2 (169.1/sq mi) in 2021.

Khomas Region occupies 4.5% of the land area of Namibia [5] but has the highest population of any of its regions (16.2%).
