The 2024–25 Western Carolina Catamounts men's basketball team represents Western Carolina University during the 2024–25 NCAA Division I men's basketball season.The Catamounts, led by first-year head coach Tim Craft, play their home games at the Ramsey Center located in Cullowhee, North Carolina as members of the Southern Conference (SoCon).
In 2005, Western Carolina hired N.C. State assistant coach, and former Ohio and Wittenberg head coach, Larry Hunter to succeed Steve Shurina as head coach. Hunter led the Catamounts to their first winning season since 1999-00 with a record of 16-15 and a co-Southern Conference North Division title during the 2008-09 season.
The WAC tournament will be held in March 2025 with all nine teams competing for the automatic bid to the 2025 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. The opening round will be held at Burns Arena in St. George, Utah with the remaining rounds at the Orleans Arena in the Las Vegas - area community of Paradise, Nevada . [ 2 ]
