Long range outlooks for temperature and precipitaiton from the National Weather Service
Long-range climatological forecasts are produced by the Climate Prediction Center (CPC), a branch of the National Weather Service. These include 8-14 day outlooks, monthly outlooks, and seasonal outlooks.
A powerful storm is expected to bring periods of heavy rain, gusty winds, and the potential for severe thunderstorms throughout the southern to central Plains through Monday. Widespread precipitation and heavy mountain snow is expected across the Northwest and northern Rockies through Monday.

For temperatures, monthly average maximum/minimum temperatures are assigned to the 15th of the current month and subsequent month. Intervening values are linearly interpolated, combined with data from the COOP, and averaged over the 7-day period to create average maximum/minimum temperature normals.
