Street Fighter is a series of fighting video games developed and published by Japanese company Capcom.The series debuted in Japan in August 1987 with the arcade game Street Fighter, and is one of Capcom's best-selling franchises with over 33 million units sold. [1]
The Street Fighter was the first film to receive an X rating solely for intense violence and gore. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] The film was especially controversial because of a scene in which Tsurugi castrates the rapist Bondo with his bare hands; it is this scene (among others) that reputedly gained the film its 'X' rating.
The show is closely based on the Street Fighter II series, but also borrows plot elements and characters from the live-action Street Fighter film and the first two Street Fighter Alpha games. It also features elements from other Capcom games, such as Saturday Night Slam Masters and Final Fight. [4]
