The standard on Wikipedia's world maps is the existence of a border between Morocco and Western Sahara. This is in accordance with the internationally recognized Moroccan borders. Therefore, the fact that French is a widely used language in Morocco is insufficient reason in this case.

The Francophonie or Francophone world is the whole body of people and organisations around the world who use the French language regularly for private or public purposes. The term was coined by Onésime Reclus [ 1 ] in 1880 and became important as part of the conceptual rethinking of cultures and geography in the late 20th century.
WikiProject Maps encourages the creation of free maps and their upload on Wikimedia Commons. On the project's pages can be found advice, tools, links to resources, and map conventions. The project suggests some web-friendly map conventions that may help to make maps more readable.
