The Gyanvapi Mosque is a mosque located in Varanasi, in the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. The mosque was constructed in c. 1678 CE , a decade after Aurangzeb 's demolition of a Shiva Hindu temple that was on the site.
The original holy well—Gyanvapi is in between the temple and Gyanvapi Mosque Ganga Dwara, Gateway of Corridor that connects Kashi Vishwanath Temple with Ghats of the Ganges.
