Ali Asghar Khodadoust (Persian: علیاصغر خدادوست, 27 October 1935 [1] – 10 March 2018) was an Iranian eye surgeon specializing in corneal transplantation, in whose honor the Khodadoust rejection line is named.
Robertson received a Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience at Yale University in 1974. He attended medical school at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, receiving an M.D. degree in 1978. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at Oregon Health Sciences University (now Oregon Health & Science University).
It is also the home department for the multidisciplinary Vision Science Group at UC Berkeley, whose graduate students earn either MS or PhD degrees. The school is named after optometrist Herbert Wertheim, who pledged $50 million to the school in 2021 through the Dr. Herbert and Nicole Wertheim Family Foundation. [2] [3]
