Webtoons (Korean: 웹툰) are a type of episodic digital comic that originated in South Korea usually meant to be read on smartphones.While webtoons were mostly unknown outside of South Korea during their inception, there has been a surge in popularity internationally thanks to the easy online accessibility and variety of free online comic content. The platform, controlled by Naver and the Naver-SoftBank Group joint venture LY Corporation through a Delaware-domiciled, Los Angeles, California-headquartered holding company WEBTOON Entertainment Inc., [1] is free and can be found both on the web at Webtoons.com and on mobile devices available for both Android and iOS.
It was serialized via Naver Corporation's webtoon platform, Naver Webtoon, from March 2019, with the individual chapters collected and published into 17 volumes. The manhwa has been published in English by Line Webtoon. A South Korean animated series produced by Durifix, EBS, and Studio N was released. [1]

After the success of Sweet Home, Kim collaborated with webtoon illustrator Hongpil for its prequel titled Shotgun Boy [b] which was released in Naver Webtoon starting February 22, 2021, with Hwang providing editorial supervision. The webtoon tells the story of the titular "shotgun [high school] boy" Han Kyu-hwan and the events prior to Sweet Home.
The God of High School [b] is a South Korean manhwa released as a webtoon written and illustrated by Yongje Park. It has been serialized in Naver Corporation's webtoon platform Naver Webtoon from April 2011 to December 2022, with the individual chapters collected and published by Imageframe under their Root label into four volumes as of January 2023.
