Dundee is a village in Yates County, New York, United States. The population was 1,725 at the 2010 census. The name was taken from Dundee, [2] the city in Scotland with a population of 148,260. The Village of Dundee is in the Town of Starkey. The village is in the Finger Lakes Region of New York, halfway between Elmira and Geneva.
New York State Route 14A (NY 14A) is a north–south state highway located in the Finger Lakes region of New York in the United States. It extends for 35.99 miles (57.92 km) from an interchange with NY 14 in the Schuyler County town of Reading to an intersection with U.S. Route 20 (US 20) and NY 5 west of the Ontario County city of Geneva.

NY 230, meanwhile, was assigned in the 1930 renumbering of state highways in New York to its current alignment from NY 54A (now NY 54) in Wayne to NY 14A near Dundee. [2] [7] The route was extended eastward along NY 14A and Dundee–Starkey Road to NY 14 east of Dundee c. 1932, [8] [9] but truncated back to NY 14A west of Dundee in the early 1940s.

[ 4 ] [ 5 ] The section of legislative Route 13 southwest of Hammondsport was first assigned a posted route designation in the mid-1920s when it was included as part of NY 38 .
