[3] [4] The station played a Christmas music format for the 2014 holiday season, the second station in Phoenix after KESZ. On April 9, 2015, 95.1 gained an FM translator, K235CB 94.9 on South Mountain, (licensed to Chandler ), and also began simulcasting on the HD2 digital subchannel of KEXX .
On August 12, 1996, KWKH-FM changed its format to Top 40 (CHR), branded first as Big Dog 94-5. On November 1, 1996, the station changed its callsign to KRUF. At the end of the 90s the station started identifying as "K94.5", discontinuing the "Big Dog" moniker by 2000.
