Women were first admitted to Auburn in 1892. [1] The Panhellenic Council was created with the chartering of a Kappa Delta sorority chapter at Auburn University in 1929. [2] The organization includes eighteen sororities and women's fraternities that are members of the National Panhellenic Conference.
In 1909, on February 14, The Alpha Rho chapter created a new society, this one for members of the senior class, called The Skulls. [5] The Skulls replaced the Theta Nu Epsilon chapter. Both the earlier and later organizations were publicly recognized by the university, and appeared each year in the university yearbook.
