Bastogne is located in the Belgian Ardennes, in the east of the province of Luxembourg. The city is 12 km (7.5 mi) away from the Luxembourg border. Its altitude is 515 m (1,690 ft) high on the ridge line separating the catchment areas of the Rhine and Meuse.

The 2011 Liège–Bastogne–Liège was the 97th running of the Liège–Bastogne–Liège, a single-day cycling race. It was held on 24 April 2011 over a distance of 255.5 kilometres (158.8 miles), starting in Liège and finishing in Ans, via Bastogne in the Ardennes region of Belgium. It was the twelfth race of the 2011 UCI World Tour season.
Liège–Bastogne–Liège [ljɛʒ.bas.tɔɲ.ljɛʒ], also known as La Doyenne ("The Old Lady"), [N 1] is a one-day classic cycling race in Belgium. [1] [2] [3] First run in 1892, it is the oldest of the five Monuments of the European professional road cycling calendar; [4] usually coming as the last of the spring classics.
It was the 104th edition of the Liège–Bastogne–Liège and the eighteenth event of the 2018 UCI World Tour. [2] [3] The race was won by the champion of Luxembourg, Bob Jungels (Quick-Step Floors), who escaped on the Côte de la Roche-aux-Faucons. [4]
Other victories include the 1983 Liège–Bastogne–Liège, the 1986 Tour de Luxembourg and Amstel Gold Race, a stage at the 1987 Tour de Suisse, the 1988 Züri-Metzgete, and 1994 national championship.
The 1966 Liège–Bastogne–Liège was the 52nd edition of the Liège–Bastogne–Liège cycle race and was held on 2 May 1966. The race started and finished in Liège . The race was won by Jacques Anquetil of the Ford France team.
