This is the list of the stations of Kolkata Metro, a Mass Rapid transit Urban Railway network serving the city of Kolkata, India.It was the first underground railway to be built in India, with the first operations commencing in October 1984 and the full stretch that was initially planned being operational by February, 1995. In 1984, the first underground metro railway (Kolkata Metro Line 1) in India, started from Tollygunge to Esplanade and in a similar way East-West metro (Kolkata Metro Line 2) was opened on a truncated section from Esplanade to Howrah Maidan.
