Souvlaki is the second studio album by the English rock band Slowdive.It was recorded in 1992, and released on 1 June 1993 by Creation Records.. On its initial release, Souvlaki peaked at number 51 on the UK Albums Chart and was greeted with tepid reviews from critics.
A double album, with the first disc being R&B-focused and the second disc being hip-hop- and trap-focused, it was supported by one single, its title track, with the Weeknd. The album received generally favorable reviews from critics and debuted atop the US Billboard 200, like its predecessor.
The AllMusic review by Maurice Rickard awarded the album 4½ stars, stating: "The first disc of this inventive and unsettling two-disc set features three long improvisations that show off the band's dub influence.
