I built on the work of u/NASApenguinaut from a few months back with this post ( D&D 5e Spells Excel File : DnD (reddit.com)) to include the Tasha's Cauldron of Everything Spells and the new Summon spell blocks. As I understand, this encompasses all known spells with a count of 520 total. Someone let me know if there are more spells I am missing.
This is compiled list of all of the spells that can benefit from a very strict reading of the Twinned Spell metamagic that are available to the Sorcerer and Sorcerer subclasses. Notes are in brackets, indicating limitations on how it qualifies (usually what subclass it is available to, or that it must be cast at it's base level because ...
You didn't account for spells that were added to classes spell list in TCoE, like Druid now getting access to Revivify, or subclass spells like Arcana Domain Cleric getting Leomunds Secret Chest. Also, a slightly different spell but something like Summon Greater Demon from XGtE should get a mention for its spell component: (a vial of blood from ...
A quick look at this list should help DMs stock any wizard's tower with ease. I agree that the DM should think about which spells the Wizard would be working on and pick from those, but in case you want to generate random (presumably curated) components on the fly: Edit: These instructions are now* correct! Make a copy of the spreadsheet
I got annoyed with the fact that 5e expects you to seemingly know exactly what "Giant Insect" does, or else to cross-verify every single spell painstakingly before picking out which ones you want, so I created a list organized like they were back in 3e, with each class's X level spells accompanied by a short description of what they do. Here it ...
Spell: Greater Haste (6th-level transmutation) | If you want to go even faster, here is an enhancement to one of my favorite spells in D&D 5e - by Jhamkul's Forge r/UnearthedArcana • My massive list of homebrewed spells (including 10th levels, incase if you have rules for that)!
I really like the sections that are broken down in the "theme" spells, like shadow, light, time, winter, etc. There is a lot of extremely niche and situational spells I have a hard time ever seeing get used but that's bound to happen when there are 700 spells in the book. I am running a winter campaign so the frost/snow spells have been nice to ...
Once upon a time I tried to make a Sabrina style sorcerer where all the spells were rhyming incantations. That was harder than it sounds by a long way. Fireball was "Flame in my hand expand and flight: Set this whole damn room ALIGHT!" but some of the more obscure spells were just too tricky to write anything good for. This is the idea
And, of course, get Fireball - it's the best in Spell Slot damage for this level, so what you will want to do with your 3rd level slots fairly often is Cast Fireball, and then swap the damage type using those other two spells as a source.
Dismiss the spectral mind, using its magic to save yourself. Lose 3d6 levels of spells for 1d6 long rests. Once per long rest Gain a +2 bonus to your AC against that attack or a +4 bonus to that saving throw. When you use this feature, you can't cast spells other than cantrips until the end of your next turn. Let the ally reroll the die.
