In December 2006, Genting Group won the bid in obtaining one of two Singapore casino licences to build an integrated resort, named Resorts World Sentosa, under Genting Singapore. [27] The project requirements include hotel, gambling, leisure facilities, convention space and retail.
Resorts World Sentosa has 1,500 hotel rooms and tourist attractions such as Universal Studios Singapore and the Marine Life Park. In the third quarter of 2012, the revenues of the Genting Singapore fell almost 20% from a year earlier.
A spokesperson for Resorts World Sentosa said the firm had over 7,000 full-time employees at the end of 2019, but declined to comment on its current employment level.
