Jardines del Pedregal (English: Rocky Gardens) or simply El Pedregal (full name: El Pedregal de San Angel) is an upscale residential colonia (neighborhood) in southern Mexico City hosting some of the richest families of Mexico. It is also known as the home to the biggest mansion in the city.

Luis de Bolaños (1549? – 11 October 1629) was a Spanish Franciscan friar and missionary evangelist, initiator of the system of reductions (indigenous towns) in Paraguay and northeastern Argentina. Bolaños was born in Marchena , Seville , and entered the Franciscan order while he was very young, studying until he became a deacon .
Luis de León was born in Belmonte, in the Province of Cuenca, in 1527 or 1528. [3] His parents were Lope de León and Inés de Varela, and they had five children. [4] His father practiced law, and it was due to his profession that the family moved to Madrid in 1534, and later to Valladolid.
On 10 December 1581, he founded Villa de la Cueva de León, no longer in existence, and in April 1582 he founded, as a city, Ciudad de León, now Cerralvo. About the same time he ordered his captain (and later Lieutenant) Gaspar Castaño de Sosa to found Villa de San Luis, now Monterrey, the capital of the modern Mexican state of Nuevo León.
