Later, by undertaking the poll campaign along with her daughter Y. S. Sharmila Reddy, YS Vijaya guided the YSR Congress Party to an unprecedented victory in the June 2012 by-polls in which their party won 15 of the 18 assembly seats [9] for which the polls were held in the absence of her son Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Sharmila was born into a Reddy political-business family to Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Vijayamma in Hyderabad. [ 13 ] [ 11 ] [ 20 ] She married Morusupalli Anil Kumar [ 21 ] in 1995. [ 22 ] Kumar, born into a Hindu Brahmin family in Telangana, converted to Christianity and now leads Anil World Evangelism.
It was founded by Y. S. Sharmila, the daughter of the former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy at Hyderabad on 8 July 2021. YSRTP was formed due to a conflict of interest between Sharmila and her brother Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. [3] The YSRTP is led by its founder as president of the party.
Reddy's body was buried on 4 September at Idupulapai in Kadapa district with full state honors in accordance with Christian rites. [ 37 ] [ 38 ] As per media reports, 122 people died of shock or committed suicide upon hearing the news of Reddy's death, many of whom were young supporters or those who benefited from his social welfare schemes. Sharmila's husband and evangelist Anil Kumar in a bid to counter and suppress Paul. Paul launched the Praja Shanti Party in the midst of his spat with Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy.
