Land o' Lakes is an unincorporated community in Vilas County, Wisconsin, United States.It is located in the town of Land o' Lakes on U.S. Route 45.The community is located along the state line with Michigan; in the past, it has also been called Donaldson and State Line (also spelled Stateline).
In 1985, officials for the town of Land O' Lakes made an attempt to demolish the vacant home. The Vilas County Sheriff said it was a staging area for local teens who burglarized or vandalized nearby cottages. [2]
The Town of Land o' Lakes is located in north-central Vilas County along the border with the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.The headwaters of a branch of the Ontonagon River is located in the town at the Cisco Chain of lakes, and the upper part of the Wisconsin River flows through the town, with the headwaters being located just to the east at Lac Vieux Desert.
Development on the Pingree's Seven Islands Land Company property, much of which surrounds Baxter State Park and the Allagash River, is heavily restricted.. In 2001, Pingree Associates announced they had negotiated an arrangement with the New England Forestry Foundation to sell undevelopable easements on three-quarters of their nearly 1 million acres (4,000 km 2).
Mamie Lake is an inland lake located in Land o' Lakes, Vilas County, Wisconsin. It is one of the main lakes on the ten lake Cisco Chain of Lakes. The lake is in both Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. It is 10 ft (3.0 m) deep and covers 376 acres (152 ha).
The Land's End Historic District encompasses a well-preserved enclave of summer residences built in the early 20th century in the Port Clyde area of St. George, Maine. Developed between 1907 and 1919 by Russell W. Porter , it includes an architecturally eclectic mix of modestly scaled cottages.
